2013 NUC National High School Poll

Week 2

Week two of the High School season is in the books. We had three teams fall out of the polls meaning three new schools enter the NUC National Top 25.

The only NUC Top 25 team to lose was St. Edward, OH. They were hammered by Glenville 52 to 21 and thus say goodbye to the Top 25.

The other two teams that fell out of the polls did not lose. Sandy Creek, GA played Plant, FL till a curfew ended the game late in the fourth quarter with time still left on the clock. Problem is the game was tied at 27 all.

The Gateway Gators struggled to beat Greater Latrobe 22 to 20. The Wildcats of Latrobe were 2-7 last season and fell 61 to 6 to the Gators.

Entering the polls are #23 Ensworth, TN, #24 North Gwinnett, GA and #25 St. Xavier, OH. Ensworth and North Gwinnett will easily make a two week stay in the Polls since both have a bye this week after starting the season off (2-0). But the Bombers of St. X host Tennessee power Brentwood Academy.

The NUC High School Player of the Week goes to quarterback Kyler Murray of Allen, TX. This NUC alum threw for 464 yards and three scores while also rushing for 80 yards and two scores in huge 49 to 27 win over Southlake Carroll.

There are four great matchups this week. Possibly one of the best games all season takes place in Dade County, Florida as #4 Miami Central hosts #2 BT Washington. This game pits the 2012 FHSAA 6A Champions versus the 4A Champions.

New Jersey power Bergen Catholic makes the trip to the Bayou to take on Louisiana's Grand Master Champion #3 John Curtis. This will be the first game of the season for both schools.

There are two great matchups out West. #10 Centennial, CA will do battle with St. Bonaventure. Centennial gave up 42 points last week to Liberty, NV. If they don't make some adjustments Alabama commit Ricky Town will have a field day throwing the ball all over the field.

In Washington defending WIAA 4A and 3A State Champions take the field of honor. The Bellevue Wolverines who have dominated the State of Washington for several years now will play host to the Spartans of Skyline.
